Yacht Charter with Chef Dubai

If the meal is the centre of your charter, discuss it before the yacht is selected. A chef cooking aboard needs a different arrangement from prepared catering delivered to the boat. Tell us the style of meal, guest count and dietary requirements so the boat and service can be considered together.

Chef service or delivered catering

Ask what the offered service actually involves: preparation aboard, finishing prepared dishes or delivery with serving staff. The galley, storage and operator’s arrangements determine what can be done. A barbecue or elaborate menu should not be assumed suitable for every vessel.

Menu and table belong to the same brief

Check that the table seats the intended party and that service can move around it. Share allergies and dietary restrictions early, then seek a clear response from the catering provider about what they can accommodate. Ask about drinks, tableware and clearing away so the meal has a complete scope.

Allow time before the first course

Provisioning and setup may need access before guests board. Agree who arranges the chef, how they reach the vessel and what time is included. The quote should separate the yacht period, catering and additional service charges where relevant, and explain how menu changes affect the total.

Choose a meal style before choosing dishes

A relaxed sharing lunch, individually plated dinner and informal canapés create different demands aboard. Decide how you want guests to eat and interact before building a menu. A long list of dishes is less useful if the boat cannot support the service you imagine.

Tell the team whether everyone should sit together or whether guests will move between seating areas. The available table, preparation space and service team should fit that choice. For a social cruise, a simpler menu served well may leave more room for conversation and views than several elaborate courses.

Match the chef's role to the onboard setup

Ask what the chef will actually do aboard and which elements are prepared elsewhere. The answer affects equipment, storage, service and the timing of the meal. It also helps distinguish a chef experience from food delivered ready to serve.

If you want an interactive element, such as discussing dishes with the chef, say so. The preparation area may not be somewhere guests can gather, and cooking duties may leave little time for conversation. Agree the experience around the real layout and working arrangements instead of expecting a restaurant kitchen to appear inside any charter yacht.

Turn dietary information into a clear guest brief

Collect dietary requirements directly from the people concerned, then send one consolidated version to the food provider. Identify essential restrictions separately from preferences. Avoid replacing a guest's precise description with a vague request for healthy food or a generally suitable menu.

Ask the provider which requirements it can accommodate and how it will identify the correct meals during service. For a mixed group, seat information or a named host may help. If an important requirement cannot be met, resolve that before booking food rather than relying on last-minute substitutions once the yacht has departed.

Give the meal a sensible place in the outing

Serving food competes for attention with speeches, photographs and guests moving around the boat. Choose a sequence that lets people enjoy each part. A welcome drink, coastal views and a shared meal can feel more natural than trying to begin every activity at once.

Ask how service fits the planned passage and who coordinates the timing with the crew. Keep a single contact for changes such as a delayed cake presentation or an extra course request. Clearing and storing items also need room; the meal should finish in a way that leaves guests comfortable for the rest of the cruise.

Before you step aboard

Your questions,
answered.

Does every yacht have a chef?

No chef service is implied by the boat category. Request it specifically and review the crew, facilities, menu and service confirmed for the offered charter.

Can we bring our own chef?

Ask before booking. The operator must agree access, galley use, equipment, insurance or other provider requirements, and the setup schedule.

Can the chef design different meals for adults and children?

Request this with the guest ages and dietary information. The food provider should confirm what it can prepare and serve within the yacht's facilities. A simpler children's option may be useful, but separate menus are not automatically included.
